Former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter Plays POTUS On ‘Super Girl’

Published

on

Fans of the DC comic’s television series Super Girl just received some good news. The most talked about topic right now is the addition of actress Lynda Carter, as President of the United States in season 2. The former Wonder Woman star plays the role of President Olivia Marsdin, who signs the Alien Amnesty Act into law, which grants citizenship to beings from other planets. After reaching National City, the president gets attacked, but the real surprise wasn’t the attack rather but the revelation at the end of the first episode that the President too was indeed an alien.

The storyline of the first episode was simply the heated debate whether creatures from other planets should be granted citizenship. Kara and The President believe that aliens should be given a chance and equal rights as humans. the Martian Manhunter however holds a contrary opinion, and he argues that allowing aliens into National City poses a big risk. There was no logical explanation as to why Olivia Marsdin supported the Alien Amnesty Act but the fact the President is an alien too, raises a lot of questions. Is she good or bad? And if she really is an alien, how did she end up as the President of United States?

Perhaps Lynda Carter’s character is just another alien trying to build a better life for herself and others, as this would explain why she strongly supports the Alien Amnesty Act; as a way to protect others like her.

Rumor has it that perhaps the character of Lynda Carter is just another deceased human replaced by a shape-shifting alien similar to the story of the Martian Manhunter – he lived for more than a decade as the deceased Hank Henshaw. The fear is that, if indeed the character is a shape shifter living in the form of a deceased politician, chances are that she used illegal means to achieve that. She might be an alien trying to use the Alien Amnesty Act to her advantage and in the end introduce some of her old alien friends into the planet without raising eyebrows.

It is unclear whether we will be seeing more of Lynda Carter in the series. At the end of the“Welcome to Earth” episode, the president leaves National City with no assurance of ever coming back. Fans of Super Girl can only wait and see whether more friendly aliens will grace their screens in the upcoming episodes, which promise to be an eye watering adventure for all of us.
