Winona Ryder And Keanu Reeves Might Accidentally Be Married

There are certain things that you might forget about. You might’ve left ice cream in a hot car or had the water running by accident. Getting married isn’t something you’d do accidentally. Unfortunately, that might be the case for two actors.

Love Never Dies

1992’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula was a major turning point when it comes to the portrayal of vampires. As the only Dracula film to get an Oscar win, this flick set the standard for projects like Twilight and True Blood. This was also the first time that Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves managed to work together on screen.

One particular scene in the film found the two being married inside a church. During this segment, a real Orthodox minister was used. This was done mainly for reshoot purposes. When the shoot was over, Ryder and Reeves didn’t realize they might actually be married.

Decades In Marital Bliss?

Fast forward 26 years later and the two are promoting their new romantic comedy, Destination Wedding. While doing the press junket for this movie, Ryder recalls that particular Dracula scene. “In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

Reeves was a bit confused about the entire situation. According to Ryder, the ceremony took place on a very appropriate day to get married. “Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day,” she stated.

No Wedding Bells Here

Ryder has always talked about never wanting to settle down. “I’d rather never have been married than been divorced a few times. Not that there’s anything wrong with divorce, but I don’t think I could do it if that was a possibility,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

Reeves, on the other hand, hasn’t been thinking of marriage since the 2001 death of his wife, Jennifer Syme. Recently, he’s been rumored to be linked with John Wick: Chapter 3 co-star, actress Halle Berry.
