Bad Boys For Life: Will Smith And Martin Lawrence Reunite

Published

on

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be reuniting to reprise their roles as Detective Mike Lowrey and Detective Marcus Burnett in the new movie, Bad Boys For Life, scheduled to be released in 2020.

The Saga Continues

If you don’t remember their roles, that’s because it’s been 16 years since the last time they appeared on screen in Bad Boys II. Both the first and second Bad Boys films were well-received by audiences, with the first movie releasing in 1995. Both cops brought laughs and action to Miami while they were retrieving heroin that had been stolen from the station headquarters.
The latest sequel began pre-production and rehearsal with the cast, where they were seen in good spirits going into round three. Will Smith posted about going down memory lane with, “First Day of Shooting tomorrow! We watched @BadBoys 1 & 2 together over the weekend. It’s about to be KRAZY! #badboysforlife.”

The Cast

Not only are Will Smith and Martin Lawrence returning, but another original cast member will be reprising his role as well. Joe Pantoliano will return as the duo’s long-suffering Captain Howard. A host of newcomers to the franchise will also be arriving, including Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Jacob Scipio, and Paola Nunez.
It was also revealed that DJ Khaled will be playing an unknown role. In addition, the franchise will be branching into TV this year, with Gabrielle Union as Marcus’s sister reprising her role in a series called L.A.’s Finest.

Finally Arriving In 2020

The film was originally slated to air in 2017 with Michael Bay wanting to return to the franchise for the third time. However, he became busy with the Transformers series and then Joe Carnahan was tapped to write and direct. Now, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have taken over the project.
The new movie shows the former partners being hunted by a vengeful mercenary after they kill his brother. Get ready for more spoilers and action coming into 2020!
