Will Smith And Martin Lawrence Suit Up For ‘Bad Boys For Life’

It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since the release of Bad Boys 2. Fans that want more from detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey won’t have to wait much longer.

Whatcha Gonna Do?

The third installment of the Bad Boys franchise is slated to arrive sometime next year. Titled Bad Boys for Life, the film follows Lowrey and Burnett coming to grips after an argument tears them apart. Both men join forces again when their lives are on the line thanks to a mob boss.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reprise their classic roles. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will work on the film, which is slated to start shooting this fall.

Years In The Making

Work on Bad Boys 3 originally started back in 2009. Over the years, many people were connected to the film, including The Blacklist producer Joe Carnahan. In 2016, Martin Lawrence revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that filming was slated to being in March 2017.

Earlier this year, Will Smith stated the new film was arriving very soon on the Australian show Sunrise.

Syd’s Time To Shine

That’s not the only Bad Boys news coming out of the camp. A TV spinoff is also in the works. Titled LA’s Finest, the show will feature Gabrielle Union reprising her role as special agent Syd Burnett. Also coming back from the films is John Salley, who plays Fletcher. Jessica Alba and Ryan McPartlin will respectively portray Nancy and Patrick McKenna.

Much like Bad Boys 3, LA’s Finest will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The show follows Syd teaming up with Nancy to take down criminals in Los Angeles. LA’s Finest was originally slated to appear on NBC’s 2018-2019 schedule, but the network passed on it. They’re currently shopping it to other networks.
