Fans Will See Double With Two Paul Rudds In Netflix’s ‘Living With Yourself’

Paul Rudd

People can’t get enough of Paul Rudd. The New Jersey native won the hearts of Marvel fans as Ant-Man. But what would happen if fans were graced with two Paul Rudds in one show? Well, that’s what Netflix is doing with Living With Yourself!

Running For Miles

The comedy series finds Miles Elliot, who is played by Rudd, wanting the perfect life. After undergoing special treatment at a spa, Miles finds out he’s been replaced with a clone. The two Miles have to find a way to live as one person without anyone knowing the truth. As expected, this has plenty of Multiplicity vibes. Aisling Bea will play Miles’ wife Kate. The Irish actress is best known for her work in The Delivery Man and Trollied.

Fans were thrilled to have more Paul Rudd on their screen. “Successful Actor: Gets two lead roles in two different shows. Paul Rudd: Gets two lead roles in the same show,” Twitter user zachisatourist said. Some fans were concerned with Rudd’s name appearing all over social media. “Omg, I saw Paul Rudd trending and literally let out an audible ‘No!’ Because I thought something bad happened. But now two Paul Rudds. Is it my birthday again?,” Twitter user TamelaDAmico said.

I’m Pickle Rudd?

A few people opined that the concept follows the same storyline in the Rick & Morty episode “Rest & Relaxation.” In the episode, Rick & Morty head to a spa to relax. During their stay, they unknowingly use a cloning machine. As a result, toxic versions of themselves are formed. While Morty was happy, Rick felt guilty about their actions. In the end, the real Rick & Morty were reunited with their toxic selves.

Bringing This To Life

Living With Yourself was originally picked up by IFC in 2017. The following year, it moved to Netflix for an eight-episode season. The show is created by Timothy Greenberg, who started out producing for The Daily Show. During his time on the show, the New York City native earned two Primetime Emmy Awards. Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are the show’s directors. The pair gained critical acclaim for their work on 2006’s Little Miss Sunshine. Before movies, Dayton and Faris were decorated music video directors. The duo won two Grammys for Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation 1814” and Korn’s “Freak On A Leash.”

All Rudd, All The Time

2019 has already been a massive year for Rudd. Avengers: Endgame became the highest-grossing film of all time with $2.796 billion earned. While he missed Infinity War, Rudd knew all of its secrets before everyone else. “I knew about it early on because when we were writing Ant-Man, I had to know about these things. I had to know about some stuff in the future because we were going to have to address it in some way. I remember hearing about it and thinking, ‘Oh wow, that’s gonna be major,’ and then years later, lo and behold,” he told Digital Spy.

Rudd will reprise his role of Ant-Man for Disney Plus’ What If…, which arrives in 2021. Based on the popular Marvel comic series, the show offers different takes on major MCU moments. As of this writing, there’s no word if Ant-Man 3 will occur in Phase Five of the MCU. Rudd will join another major film universe with a role in Ghostbusters 3, which drops on July 10, 2020.

Before Living With Yourself, Rudd took part in Netflix’s Between Two Ferns: The Movie. This serves as a spinoff of the talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. The movie follows Galifianakis and his journey to interview some familiar faces.

Living With Yourself will arrive on Netflix on October 18.
