The Fascinating Truth About Adam Lambert

Published

on

Before his recent performance at the Oscars, there was a good chance you forgot who Adam Lambert was. While he is best known for his stint on season eight of American Idol and his acclaimed one-hit wonder, “What do you want from me”, there’s a lot more to the Adam Lambert story than we’ve all been keeping up with.

He Lost In The Finale of American Idol

Adam Lambert was fan favorite in Season eight of American Idol but lost in the finale to fellow contestant, Kris Allen. While nothing can be confirmed, it’s rumored that this was by unfair advantage due to hundreds of illegal block votes due to AT&T actually giving Allen hometown fans free cell phones to vote during the finale.

Fans Felt Betrayed About His Sexual Orientation

While Adam never hid his sexual orientation, he also didn’t think it was necessary to announce it to the public. When he did publicly come out, fans were in an uproar. They felt betrayed he hadn’t come out sooner but Adam said in an interview, ‘I already am out! I didn’t realize when you’re in the public eye you have to declare it.’

He’s a Huge Queen Fan

American Idol fans would know that the first time we heard Adam Lambert sing in the audition room, it was to Queen’s hit single, Bohemian Rhapsody. He’s loved Queen since he was in his 20’s.  Despite loving the bands’ approach to music, Adam also appreciated Freddie Mercury’s approach to his sexual orientation, neither denying nor broadcasting it.

He Had A Small Cameo In Bohemian Rhapsody

We wouldn’t have been able to guess it from first glance, but Lambert made a ‘very very mysterious’ appearance in the 2019 Oscar-winning film, Bohemian Rhapsody. We can see a random bearded man sporting a red trucker hat who locks eyes with Freddie Mercury (played by Rami Malek) at a truck stop. He wouldn’t confirm this role until months later on Twitter.

We Might Be Witnessing The Adam Lambert Comeback

When the 2019 Oscars found themselves without a host due to Kevin Hart backing out, they scheduled an opening performance with Queen and Adam Lambert. Sources say this performance had way more energy then any host could ever deliver.  Is it just the beginning of a new chapter for Lambert?
