“The Office” Cast Reunite For Fans’ Wedding

the office cast reunites

Fans of The Office can’t believe it’s been seven years since the final episode. For one couple, they chose to reenact Jim and Pam’s engagement. After hearing this news, John Krasinski called up the rest of The Office cast for a special reunion.

I’ve Seen This Before

On his YouTube channel Some Good News, Krasinski showcased how quarantine couldn’t stop love. In the video, videos of wedding ceremonies and proposals were on display. One proposal that stood out was a couple named Susan and John. “Perhaps my favorite love story of the week was a couple down in Maryland, whose wedding proposal was oddly familiar,” Krasinski said in the video. A clip shows John proposing to Susan at a gas station. This nearly mirrors the engagement of Jim and Pam except it wasn’t raining.

Krasinski decided to have the engaged couple on his show to discuss the whole thing. Before the video chat, the couple asked the star on Twitter if he would attend their wedding. In a surprise, Krasinski agreed to attend their wedding, but that wasn’t all. He got ordained to officiate the glorious ceremony. Because of quarantine, they chose to handle the ceremony over a Zoom meeting. While Susan and John were excited to see friends and family, Krasinski saved the biggest thing for last.

Walking Down The Virtual Aisle

While Krasinski agreed to be John’s best man, he had something special for Susan. For Susan’s maid of honor, Krasinski introduced Jenna Fischer. For brides, being able to walk down the aisle with their father is important. While Susan’s father couldn’t do it, Krasinski made up for it in a major way. He introduced country singer Zac Brown, who unveiled his new song “The Man Who Loves You the Most.”

After saying “I do,” it wasn’t over just yet for the newlyweds. Krasinski brought the rest of The Office cast together to recreate the dance number from Jim and Pam’s wedding. In their quarantined state, each cast member delivered their moves like no one was watching. The highlight belonged to Rainn Wilson, who needed his wife’s help to recreate the kick to Isabelle’s face.

Back To The Office?

As expected, fans are hoping to see The Office‘s cast members reunite for more antics. Rumors of an Office revival have been going strong for the past few years. Last year, Bonnie Hammer, Chairman of NBCUniversal Content Studios, revealed an Office reboot is possible. With NBC’s Peacock streaming service coming this summer, they’re looking to bring back some favorites. The Office will make its way to the service in January 2021. “It is my hope that we can figure what that great reboot would be,” Hammer told Deadline.

This ends a successful run on competing streaming service Netflix. On the service, The Office was the most-watched show with 45.8 billion minutes watched in a year. The second most-watched show was Stranger Things, which earned 27.6 billion minutes watched. One reason for the show’s staying power is its humor. It’s hard for anyone to go on social media without seeing endless memes from the show.

While an Office reboot sounds great to fans, Steve Carell wouldn’t want anything to do with it. He points toward Michael Scott’s behavior as a key reason. Most of what Scott did on the show would be looked down upon in today’s world. If they decided to tweak Scott’s personality, many would attack the network for ruining a good thing.

While most of the cast members exited with successful careers, making a return would be a blast. Finding their way back into those memorable characters would equal big streaming numbers for Peacock. For now, it’s all about celebrating longtime fans with unforgettable moments.
