When it comes to hot directors, Rian Johnson is at the top of the list. Following his latest smash Star Wars: The Last Jedi, he’s busy looking a numerous film offers. His next movie will find him working with Bond… James Bond.
Playing With Knives
Daniel Craig will be starring in Johnson’s forthcoming movie Knives Out. When it comes to the collaboration, Johnson has waited years for this moment. “I have been a huge fan and always wanted to work with him and as I worked on the script, trying to get it right, Ram and I were wringing our hands over who could be the detective,” he told Deadline.

Johnson, who wrote the script, is working on the film with frequent collaborator Ram Bergman.
Window Of Opportunity
Craig’s involvement with the movie is thanks to the delay of Bond 25. That feature was slated to be filmed this fall. Due to director Danny Boyle exiting the film, no one knows when it’ll start.

“We heard Daniel might have a small window, and it worked out. He’s an actor of extraordinary range, and we are looking forward to the fun of finding that modern detective, and collaborating with Daniel on creating a new Poirot,” Johnson told Deadline. Knives Out is set to start filming in November.
The Proper Backup
Helping Johnson with the project is the independent film studio, Media Rights Capital. Founded in 2006, that studio has backed hits such as 22 Jump Street and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.
