The world of Hollywood and the celebrities who work in the entertainment industry is a very different one compared to the world that you and I live in. For some reason, because of their high social status and wealth in society, the celebrity population generally believes that they can get away with anything. You might be super surprised to here that there are actually a bunch of celebrities who committed horrible, shocking crimes, but kept their high celebrity status. Before he became the hit movie star and of course ’90s rapper from Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch Gang, Mark Wahlberg was just a 16 year old kid who knew just how to get into trouble. He once attacked two Vietnamese men with a wooden stick, which left one of the men blind in one eye, and charges were pressed against him. Wahlberg was hit with a serious charge of attempted murder, but instead pled guilty to assault. That landed him a sentence of two years locked up, but he only ended up serving 45 days of that long sentence.

4. Dustin Diamond

Remember Screech from “Saved by the Bell?” Yeah we all realized back then that he was a little off, or at least the character that Dustin Diamond played was a little weird, but now he’s actually a criminal! In December of 2014, Diamond was arrested after stabbing a man, and then over the summer of 2015 he was convicted and sentenced to up to nine months in prison. Thankfully the stabbing was not fatal, so he was only convicted on two misdemeanors and only served four of the nine months behind bars.

3. Jay-Z

Oh yes, the legendary rapper and husband to Beyonce himself. Before he became one of the most famous men in the rapping game, Jay-Z was a little criminal. When he was 12 years old, he got into a huge dispute with his older brother over some stolen jewelry, which ended in Jay-Z shooting his brother! Then in 1999, he got into an altercation with a record executive over a bootleg edition of a record that he had made, which ended in Jay-Z stabbing the record executive. Jay-Z turned himself in, posted bail, pleaded guilty to a much lesser charge of just a misdemeanor, and didn’t have to serve any time in jail. Instead he was under probation for three years, but he’s not the only celebrity we know who was under probation!

2. Will Smith

We know him now as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air who turned a TV show based partially on his life into a huge acting career, but did you know that he also committed a crime?! In 1989, Smith was involved in an incident of aggravated assault, which left the victim with a fractured left eye orbit that needed six stitches to be patched up. He was originally charged with reckless endangerment to another person as well as aggravated assault charges. Though the charges were eventually dropped, Smith was already in the public eye filming The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, so the media obviously got wind of it and made it into a very big story.

The youngest of the three Kardashian sisters ended up spending a bit of time in a jail cell after a night of way too much drinking, partying, and not enough thinking on her part. Back in 2007, Khloe was documented on their hit reality television show Keeping Up With the Kardashians being in jail for driving while under the influence. She was sentenced to only three years on probation instead of time in prison, but ended up breaking the probation deal. That landed her in jail for a short 30 days, but ended up leaving after only three hours due to an overcrowding situation.
