Hardcore Marvel Fans Have Started An Epic, Superhero-Themed Baby Name Revolution

Published

on

It’s no secret that most baby names (even subconsciously) are inspired by happenings in media, technology, politics, and other global events. While there are many possible influences, the movie industry may be owed the most credit for the creative and thought-provoking titles given to certain infants. But, which franchise is currently dominating the baby name scoreboard?

The Media-Driven Age Of Baby Names

It is not unpopular for television, film, and other media to have a major impact on eras of baby names. Whether parents have pulled from the worlds of Harry Potter, Narnia, or Lord of the Rings, the last decade has seen an influx in media-related names across the world. Now, one major franchise has finally caught up to this trend.

Marvel Universe: Adding To The 2018 Mix

The Marvel Universe has certainly played a massive role in the film world in the past couple of years. From Thor: Ragnarok to Black Panther, the franchise has seen rising popularity and increased demand from die-hard fans. It only makes sense that the fandom is now dedicating some of the pretty epic names from the series to their tots.

Peter Parker: Spiderman Tops The Charts

While most parents avoid burdening their kids with titles like “Hulk” or “Wolverine”, there is a clear trend of Marvel-oriented names popping up across the charts! Perhaps one of the most notable is the uber-famous Spiderman’s alter-ego’s last name: Parker. Granted, Parker may not seem trend-inspired by itself, but there are plenty more superhero names climbing to prominence.

Female-Oriented Awesomeness: Natasha and Pepper

Along with Parker, there are two more names which are more subtle expressions of Marvel love: Natasha and Pepper. The bold and brilliant Black Widow supposedly inspires the name Natasha. It’s pretty hard to deny that Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s love interest, is likely behind the rise of Peppers. But, if you still don’t believe in the Marvel wave, these hardcore superhero names are certain to convince you.

Obscure Additions: Marvel’s Strangest Baby Names

Amongst the mild-mannered Marvel lovers are some diehard fans, and they didn’t miss their opportunity to express their obsession with the franchise. More obscure hero names such as Hawkeye, Nebula, and Rocket also made the cut, even if they were in small numbers. And hopefully, this year’s round of Marvel names will bring even more superheroes into the world.

Neverland Ranch is Back On The Market: Take A Look Around the Amusement Park

Situated in the Santa Ynez Valley of Santa Monica, California, the almost 3,000 acre plot of land upon which Neverland Ranch was constructed has recently been placed back on the market. Nowadays, the one-time residence of international pop sensation Michael Jackson is going by a new name: Sycamore Valley Ranch. Much of the estate is as it was during the 15 years Jackson called it his home, except for a few glaring differences – namely, the removal of the fun-fair rides that gave the home its whimsical name Neverland Ranch. The very last vestiges of where the carousel once spun are still visible as you go through the grounds. Read on for an in-depth view of the ranch.
