A pregnant homeless dog named Summer who was living on the streets of Los Angeles gave birth behind the bushes and while the residents in the community were familiar with her and fed her even before she was pregnant, they all knew that her newborn puppies deserved to live better, which is why they called animal group Hope for Paws to arrange a rescue.

“She was on the street for a while; neighbors fed her and really liked having her around because she was nice, but of course when she had babies in the bushes, they knew they had to do the right thing and contact us so that the babies and the mom could be with us in a healthy and clean environment,” Hope for Paws founder Eldad Hagar said in an interview with The Dodo.
The animal group captured the highlights of the rescue on video and uploaded it on YouTube, getting almost 400,000 views so far.
Unlike other new dog mothers who snarl at strangers, Summer was not aggressive to the rescuers at all.

“We approached her right away and she was just so nice to us, so gentle,” Hagar shared. “She allowed us to pick up the puppies right away, which was quite surprising because mothers to newborns tend to be protective,” the rescuer added.
Rescuer Loreta Frankonyte placed a comforter near the ground where Summer and her pups were located and started taking the puppies one by one, settling them on the warm comforter.
After the last of the six puppies was safely taken, Summer also emerged from the bushes and the entire family of pooches was brought to a veterinarian for check-up and clean-up. Fortunately, every member of the canine family was in good health.

Summer and her six pups – Tanner, Diver, Surfer, Shelly, Sunny, and Sandy, are currently in foster care. The group is requesting that the video of Summer’s rescue be shared so that they can find a home that will take them in permanently.
