20 Students Walk Teacher Down the Aisle on Her Wedding Day

When teacher Marielle Slagel Keller was planning her wedding, she knew she wanted the most special people in her life involved. For this reason, she decided to include 20 of her kindergarten and first-grade students to serve as flower girls and ring bearers when she got married last month.

“They’re the kids that mean the most to me. They’re a part of who I am,” the 25-year-old teacher told ABC News.

She also shared that: “I’m really close to their families, too. They supported me throughout this wedding planning process, so it wouldn’t have been right to not have them be there the day of.”

The kindergarten students all wore white outfits as they walked down the aisle ahead of their lovely teacher and what made the occasion even more special was the fact that Marielle’s big day was the first wedding ever attended by majority of the kids.

The groom, Mike Keller, shared that while he agreed with Marielle’s plan, he was still worried that things may not go as planned considering how unpredictable it was to manage small children.

“I said, ‘This is lovely,’ but in the back of my mind, I’m thinking, ‘There’s a 25 percent chance this will go according to plan. I thought, ‘This is going to be interesting: a herd of 6-year-olds coming down the aisle in this very important moment,'” Mike shared.

Fortunately, all the students were well-behaved and everything turned out more beautiful than expected.

“She really had passion for it on this special day and I’m glad she went with it. It ended up being perfect,” Marielle’s husband said.

The beloved teacher also made sure to share her special day as she arranged for a cupcake ceremony for the children after they shared their vows.

“To have those kids walk down the aisle for me was really special. There were a lot of tears,” the teacher said.

Situated in the Santa Ynez Valley of Santa Monica, California, the almost 3,000 acre plot of land upon which Neverland Ranch was constructed has recently been placed back on the market. Nowadays, the one-time residence of international pop sensation Michael Jackson is going by a new name: Sycamore Valley Ranch. Much of the estate is as it was during the 15 years Jackson called it his home, except for a few glaring differences – namely, the removal of the fun-fair rides that gave the home its whimsical name Neverland Ranch.
