‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ Trailer Arriving In April?

Published

on

For Star Wars fans worldwide, 2019 means they’re finally getting the conclusion to the new trilogy. We’re already well into the year, and there’s still no trailer for this highly anticipated flick. Fortunately, it may be coming sooner than later.

April Showers Bring A New Trailer?

The trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX is rumored to be released sometime in April. Star Wars fans know that April includes the return of Star Wars Celebration. The beloved convention hits up Chicago’s McCormick Place on April 11 through April 15.

This will be the first Star Wars Celebration since the 2017 installment in Orlando, Florida. Events for Celebration haven’t been released, but several names from the Star Wars universe will be there. Billy Dee Williams, who reprises his role of Lando in Episode IX, is set to appear.

Shutting Fans Out?

Debuting the trailer during the convention would be very appropriate. Since the convention will be streamed online, everyone around the world will watch it simultaneously. There’s a slight chance that online viewers may get blocked from seeing the trailer. Since folks paid their hard earned money for Celebration, they may get to view it before anyone else.

This kind of tactic is normal at major conventions such as San Diego Comic Con. The trailer could officially be released days after Celebration’s end.

The World Is Watching

With Avengers: Endgame arriving, Disney could surprise fans with the trailer on opening night. With a slew of fans going to see this movie, it would be a great way to get fans talking. Either way, people will be paying close attention to Lucasfilm during the next several weeks.

Star Wars: Episode IX will be released on December 20. The film features Keri Russell, Matt Smith, and Dominic Monaghan in undisclosed roles. Episode IX takes place one year following the aftermath of The Last Jedi.
