Unsurprisingly, the next installment of the world-famous Star Wars series, Star Wars: Episode IX, is highly-anticipated. Adding to this anticipation, podcaster and filmmaker Kevin Smith recently visited the set of the film and said that it was so incredible it brought him to tears. Talk about hype!

A Special Visit

Smith recently had the chance to visit the set of Episode IX. It would seem that his time there went exceptionally well as when he recently appeared on Good Morning America he had nothing but praises to give for what he witnessed.

“I do want to say this,” Smith said while speaking of the set,  “number one, J.J. is doing the lord’s work. This movie looks fantastic. It’s a year away, but man it looks fantastic.”

Brought To Tears

Smith was so strongly influenced by his experience, in fact, that he even shed tears. “I wept on set because I saw somebody give a career-best performance, somebody I’ve seen in these movies before,” Smith recounted, “I rolled a tear, it was so darn powerful.”

Judging by Smith’s recounting, it seems safe to say that at least some aspects of Episode IX live up to the hype.

Tightly Sealed

Kevin Smith was not able to say much more about what he saw on the Star Wars set, as the movie-makers surely do not want too much of the upcoming film’s information to get out. “They make you sign so many nondisclosure agreements that if I said anything, somebody with a lightsaber would pop out and cut my hand off,” said Smith.

Star Wars: Episode IX is certainly going to be another blockbuster. Surely many fans of the beloved series already have big plans for the film’s release but Smith’s accolades for what he saw on set are definitley an added bonus to what is shaping up to be a greatly anticipated feature.
