Sorry, ‘Step Brothers 2’ Is A No-Go

Published

on

With its dedicated fan base, Step Brothers is sure to go down in history as one of funniest movies of all time. If you haven’t seen it, get streaming now. The plot might be a bit predictable, but you’re in for a few unexpected laughs.

Flashback

Everyone who has seen Step Brothers pretty much loved the movie as well as the characters. Two 40-year-olds that still live at home are forced to become roommates when their parents meet and marry one another.

Although both are very immature, confrontational, and somewhat delusional, Brennan and Dale somehow managed to win the hearts of fans everywhere. So, it’s easy to fantasize about a possible sequel. We’d all love to see another story unfold involving Dale and his beloved drum set or Brennan and his gifted vocals.

Would Be Nice, But No

However, much to our distaste, John C. Reilly has informed the public that a sequel is not going to happen. During the end of a recent interview, John C. Reilly informed the world that while the idea of a sequel is tempting, it probably would never come to fruition.

“…There’s no Step Brothers 2. It’s not on the table. I would love to do it, we’ve talked about it, we have some great ideas for the sequel, but it’s not everyone’s first move to want to do a sequel. Most people like Will and Adam and I, we’re trying to do new stuff. We’re trying to find the next Step Brothers…”

Stop Asking, Okay?

Sadly, there will not be a Step Brothers 2. In order for fans to get their Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly fix, they’ll have to watch some of their other movies. The actors have worked on a few projects together recently including two films, Holmes And Watson and Border Guards, that are set to be released in 2018.

The dream team has been busy individually as well. You can catch John C.Reilly in the upcoming flick The Sisters Brothers coming out in October. He also lends his voice to the much-anticipated sequel Ralph Breaks The Internet in November. Ice Pack is an upcoming comedy starring Will Ferrell that is sure to satisfy.

When Real-Life Plays A Part In TV Plotlines

Not every show has its plot lined out from the moment the pilot airs, and still, sometimes real-life can get in the way. Even the best laid plans can go awry, and sometimes plotlines are created entirely to accommodate an actor’s unexpected personal issue. From pregnancies to off-set injuries (and of course plenty of on-set injuries), writers are reworking scripts so that you’d never know something else was happening behind the scenes. Think you know why an actor exited a show? We’ll bet you didn’t even realize that some major show plots happened out of serendipity.
