Can’t Wait For The Epic Six-Part New Season Of ‘Game of Thrones’? Neither Can We

Who hasn’t been caught up in the race for the throne? Seven seasons have captivated viewers with twists and turns, and the knowledge that no one is safe. Season 8 of Game of Thrones returns to deliver a final chill as winter arrives in the final six episodes.

Season 8 Is Coming

While there is still a few months before the show returns, fans are still on the lookout for gossip surrounding the latest season. HBO CEO Richard Plepler revealed to Variety after the 76th Golden Globe Awards that he’s seen rough cuts of the last season. According to Plepler, each episode feels like a movie in its ability to not only reach but exceed the bar set by the previous seven seasons. He said it’s quite a spectacle and that, “I’ve watched them twice without any CGI and I’m in awe. Everybody’s in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production.”

While Plepler may be a testament to the thrill of the upcoming episodes, there is still plenty of speculation as to what may happen within the episodes themselves.

The Latest Plot Updates

While no one knows who will win the iron throne, the first trailer has been released. It shows Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner, and Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, meeting for the first time.

Given the shows many plot points, there is still speculation around the run time of the final series. Especially with the blockbuster nature of season seven, with a full-blown dragon battle, it is no small task to wrap up this storyline.

The Final Season

The final episodes of Game of Thrones will begin airing April 2019 after a year’s hiatus. Fans will soon know the fates of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the rest of Westeros.
