These ‘Shameless’ Plot Holes Will Leave You Speechless

If you’re looking for the perfect TV family, The Gallaghers aren’t for you. For nine seasons, Showtime’s Shameless has showcased the chaos surrounding Frank Gallagher and his family. Like many shows, there are some situations that don’t seem right to fans. We look at some things that leave many confused.

Like Father, Like Son

Frank might not be Ian’s biological father, but that doesn’t stop him from calling him son. On the flip side, Ian is one of the few Gallaghers that actually call Frank “Dad.” One reason for this could be his overall relationship with Frank. While Clayton might be Ian’s father, Frank is all that he has as a true father.

Working Nine To Five

Fiona’s work life has evolved over the seasons. Once a waitress at Patsy’s Pies, she quickly became the owner. Things drastically changed when she decided to go into the landlord business. While she’s busy dealing with tenants, she also has a restaurant to run. Unfortunately, we’re not sure if she splits her time between the two or hired someone new at Patsy’s.

Taking A Swim

At the end of season six, the Gallaghers had just about enough of Frank’s nonsense. They kidnapped him and tossed him in the Chicago River. Strangely enough, no one got arrested for doing this during rush hour. This meant countless people driving by witnessed a possible murder and nothing happened.

Keeping The Wallet Fat

In season eight, Ian became the leader of a local group of teenagers. While he had this new position, many were left wondering about how he’s able to obtain money. In the beginning of the season, Ian was still a firefighter. Somewhere during the season, he somehow stopped going to work.

Face To Face

Multiple people playing the same character is nothing new. It happened on shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Monk. Taking a page out of Full House, Liam was first portrayed by Blake Johnson and Brennan Johnson. Beginning with season three, Brenden and Brandon Sims took the role. With season eight, they decided to have Christian Isaiah as Liam. As expected, this inconsistency has left some people scratching their heads.
