‘The Saint’ Reboot Might See Chris Pratt In The Lead Role

Published

on

Since Parks and Recreation, Chris Pratt has been a busy man in the box office world. With major roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, he’s become a sought-after star. Now, he is looking to be a part of another big franchise.

Pratt’s A Saint

There are talks of Chris Pratt playing Simon Templar in The Saint, which is being rebooted by Paramount Pictures. The Saint is arguably one of the longest running media franchises that probably flew under your radar. Written by Leslie Charteris, The Saint has been adapted into 23 films, including the 1997 film starring Val Kilmer.

Mauricio Santana

A canceled TV pilot of The Saint was released following the death of Sir Roger Moore in 2017. Moore played the role of Templar in the ’60s television series. Moore and Ian Ogilvy, who played Templar in the ’70s television series, both appear in this pilot.

Some ‘Transformers’ Magic

Paramount Pictures, who worked on Val Kilmer’s Saint film, regained the rights back in 2016. While talks are early, they do have someone that’s slated to produce the film.

Myles Aronowitz

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is easily best known for producing the Transformers and GI Joe films. His forthcoming films are Bumblebee and Kringle, which has been in development since 2007.

Gotta Undo The Snap

Chris Pratt will have some time on his hands following the hiatus of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s production. The forthcoming Marvel Studios film was slated to begin in January, but it was put on hold over the summer. In the future, Pratt will be working on Jurassic World 3 and Cowboy Ninja Viking, which is based on the Image Comics series of the same name.

Marvel Studios

Next year, fans can hear Pratt in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part and see him in The Kid and Avengers 4.
