The Five Saddest On-Screen Deaths We Still Can’t Get Over

Published

on

When it comes to TV and movies, many of us get attached to certain characters. We root for them to succeed and love watching them develop. When producers decide to suddenly kill off someone we love, it changes things drastically. These five on screen deaths have left fans completely speechless.

Birthday Into Deathday

Sony Pictures Television

A handful of characters from Degrassi have passed away throughout the franchise. One of the most heartbreaking deaths came from J.T. Yorke in Degrassi: The Next Generation. While Liberty was throwing a birthday party, J.T. was stabbed by a drunk Drake Lempkey. By the time J.T. got to the hospital, it was already too late.

Hold The Door

HBO

Hodor was one of the most beloved characters in Game of Thrones. Out of everyone on that show, nobody expected him to land six feet under. In the episode “The Door,” Hodor protected everyone from undead wights before he was left to die. We also learned that Hodor stood for “hold the door,” which was an order by Bran.

I Don’t Feel So Good

Half of the universe kicked the bucket in Avengers: Infinity War. There’s no death more heartbreaking than Peter Parker’s on screen meltdown. As Tony Stark holds onto him, the teen simply disintegrates along with his fellow super heroes. Seeing someone so young get into a situation like that was brutal to watch. Parker will be brought back in his own films, but this was one defining moment.

Odds Aren’t In Your Favor

Star Wars: The Force Awakens didn’t disappoint as the grand continuation of the beloved sci-fi franchise. It did, however, leave fans in disbelief as Han Solo was murdered by his own son Kylo Ren. If you didn’t see the film on opening weekend, you were bound to have this shocking moment spoiled.

Lucasfilm

An Agent Falls

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans knew someone would die in season five’s finale “The End.” After getting hit with falling rubble, Agent Fitz had a rough time getting up. A few seconds later, fans would see his body completely severed in half from the aftermath. Fitz passes away with Agent May and S.H.I.E.L.D. director Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie looking on in sadness.

5 Movies That Were Unexpectedly Canceled

Hollywood producers and directors sometimes produce movies that are “hit-or-miss”. The ones that miss could gain momentum, but often, producers eventually cancel the in-development projects before they’re ever released in theaters.
