Ryan Reynolds Wants A Wolverine/Deadpool Movie: 5 Ways It Might Go Down

Published

If you’ve ever wanted to see a Wolverine/Deadpool crossover film, Ryan Reynolds understands you. Over the past year, he’s been trying to get Hugh Jackman onboard. While Jackman has stated that he’s done with the character, he could be playing hard to get. We look at some possible scenarios for this ultimate matchup.

Joining Forces Again

Wolverine and Deadpool did meet up in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. While the film made some cash, many people heavily criticized Deadpool’s portrayal in the movie. For some reason, Deadpool was able to shoot lasers from his eyes à la Cyclops. To make it even worse, he didn’t actually dress like Deadpool, and was completely mute. A Wolverine/Deadpool film has to poke fun at the entire ordeal.

A Little Uncanny

In the comics, both characters have fought with and against each other on numerous occasions. With many storylines to adapt, it might be a bit rough to pick just one. One possible path for the film could involve Wolverine joining the X-Force, since both Deadpool and Wolverine have been members.

Throw Out The Rulebook

Since Wolverine died in Logan, it might be a bit weird seeing him back on the big screen. However, this is a Deadpool film, and the series is known for all sorts of fourth-wall-breaking antics. As far as where this could fit in the timeline, it simply doesn’t. Fans can just think of this film as a one-off.

Marvel Comics

Like Father, Like Son

While it might involve Deadpool and Wolverine fighting each other, the film needs a strong villain to unite them. Wolverine’s son Daken could easily fill that role in his film debut. Daken was a thorn in both Wolverine and Deadpool’s sides for quite some time. Wolverine had the unfortunate task of murdering Daken in the comic books.

Marvel Comics

Family Reunion

If they’re looking to go all the way with this, X-23 must also make an appearance. Making her debut in Logan, she becomes a strong ally to her father. The thought of seeing X-23 having screen time with Negasonic Teenage Warhead is enough to bring her in.
