Ryan Reynolds Comes Clean About What Superhero He Really Wanted To Play

Published

on

Rare are the actors in Hollywood who are even allowed to play a superhero in both DC and Marvel movies. Normally, never the twain shall meet. However, when you have the acting chops, charisma and overall talent of Ryan Reynolds, all rules go out the window. Such was the case when the beloved actor portrayed both Green Lantern and Deadpool.

He’s Just That Lovable

Even in his early days as an actor, Ryan Reynolds quickly became a fan favorite for his casual demeanor and subtly hilarious line-deliveries. He delivered a quick-witted style of comedy that fans quickly fell in love with.

While the role of wise-cracking Deadpool seems like a match made in comic book heaven for Reynolds, he revealed this week that there are actually other superheroes he wished he could portray on the big screen.

Who Did He Have His Eyes On?!

It’s hard to imagine anyone but Reynolds playing the iconic Deadpool. However, had things gone Ryan’s way initially, he would’ve been too busy playing another superhero altogether. But the question on everybody’s mind is…which hero?

Instagram

When asked what other comic book icon he’d like to play during a panel conversation at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, Reynolds said, “I wanted to be the Flash — the Wally West version — but I think all of those ships have sailed.”

Will That Ever Happen?

Unfortunately, much like Reynolds alluded to with his response, it’s very unlikely that he’d be cast (again) in another superhero role.

Time

Although, we can’t help but wonder what the world would be like with a Ryan Reynolds version of The Flash. Also, who would have the comedic cajones to fill the hysterical red shoes as the new Deadpool? Lucky for us, we’ll never have to live in a universe without Ryan playing everybody’s favorite foul-mouthed hero!
