Could Robert Pattinson Be The Next Batman?

Published

on

From Forks, Washington to Gotham City, Robert Pattinson is the latest actor among several rumored to take over the iconic role of Batman from Ben Affleck. Fans are convinced Pattinson is cast as Gotham’s Caped Crusader after a piece of DC-themed artwork emerged on Twitter. Could the rumors be true?

Affleck Out, New Actor In

Affleck has played the memorable role of Batman in several movies, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Justice League, and he’s expected to reprise the role in this year’s Justice League Part Two. But in January 2019, the actor announced he was departing from the role in the upcoming standalone movie, The Batman.

Warner Bros.

Many fans were disappointed in the news, especially since Affleck’s departure pushed back the movie’s release date to June 25, 2021. Fans will have to wait a little bit longer for a movie completely devoted to Batman.

A Long List Of Actors

Since the news was announced Affleck would not be returning as Batman, critics have speculated who will next play everyone’s favorite superhero. The list features several accomplished actors, including Jack O’Connell, Kit Harrington, Armie Hammer, Jon Hamm, Richard Madden, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and even Nick Jonas. But everyone is now convinced Pattinson is the best choice for the distinguished role.

Summit Entertainment

Pattinson has had experience starring in a popular franchise. From 2008 to 2012, he made teenagers swoon across the globe as Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga. He sank his teeth as a vampire. He might be ready now to strap on a cape and be a different kind of hero.

What Started The Rumor?

A piece of DC-themed artwork recently emerged on Twitter, featuring Pattinson as “The Batman.” The artwork, from BossLogic, looks authentic. If Pattinson is going to play Batman, he already looks impressive in what would be his biggest role in over five years.

We Got This Covered

Rumors tend to spread quickly in Hollywood. Once the photo was leaked, it didn’t take long for fans to discuss their theories. But if Pattinson is actually next in line to play Batman, we’re already excited to see what he will bring to the legendary action figure.
