Rihanna’s Fenty Lingerie Line Is Finally Coming

Published

on

In addition to being one of America’s biggest fashion and pop culture icons, Rihanna has proven herself to be a money-making machine. The R&B singer has reinforced this time and time again in recent years with the successful launch of her Puma clothing collaboration (which reportedly contributed to a dramatic increase in Puma’s sales) as well as Fenty Beauty, her high-end cosmetics line that’s popularity rivaled that of Kylie Jenner’s famous liquid lipsticks.

A New Announcement

Earlier this week, rumors began swirling that Riri was planning to expand her empire even more with a line of lingerie.

Fans were excited, and not just for the chance to see Rihanna’s legendary style translated to a line of intimates. The buzz is also due to the fact that the singer’s inclusive ethos could mean a larger range of sizes and styles than other brands offer.

The Hype Begins

The singer and style mogul added fuel to the fire when she took to Twitter to cryptically tweet “didn’t they tell you?” amidst all of the hype.

Soon afterward, she followed up the suggestion with a bonafide announcement video which teased shots of women adorned in baby pink lingerie interspersed with words like “SAVAGE” and “FENTY,” both of which are terms heavily associated Rihanna’s brand.

Rihanna’s Grand Reveal

“We bout to light this up sis!!? … introducing @SAVAGEXFENTY lingerie coming soon. sign up now at SAVAGEX.com !!” read her caption, which directed to fans to pre-order the lingerie.

The announcement also confirmed her long-rumored deal with TechStyle (formerly Just Fab), a company which has previously backed Kate Hudson’s line of athletic attire and other subscription-based fashion services like ShoeDazzle. Investment bank CEO Lloyd Greif weighed in on the financial benefits of the collaboration, stating that “the Rihanna brand play would be to convince the market that the company (TechStyle) has strong growth.”

With the success of her recent ventures, it’s no wonder companies are starting to take notice of Rihanna’s golden touch.
