You likely know the saying “not all heroes wear capes.” Well, one pair of hero elephants proved that animal kingdom is just as exciting as any action movie when they saved a baby elephant from drowning in a wildlife enclosure at the Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea.

NY Daily News
The CCTV footage begins with the elephant calf playing near the water beside one of the adults. Suddenly, the baby elephant falls into the enclosure’s pool. The panicked calf tries to swim, but to no avail. One of the adults also tries to help from outside the pool, but cannot.
Another adult rushes over and together the elephants try unsuccessfully to fish the youngster out of the water with their trunks. A third adult, who can be seen in the background, is clearly aware of what’s going on as they dash back and forth. Had it not been for the fence separating these intelligent animals, the elephant onlooker would probably have joined in on the effort as well.

The fast-thinking duo then goes around to the shallow part of the pool and enters the water. In the meantime, the baby makes its way to a more shallow area on the other side of the pool, possibly following instructions from their rescuers. The adults quickly reach the shallow end and guide the calf out of the pool.
The video ends shortly after the group walks onto dry land. They don’t rejoice after coming out of the shocking experience. They just carry on, like the resilient creatures that they are.
None of the elephants were harmed during the ordeal, according to zoo officials. The footage of the heart-warming moment was posted on Friday and has since gotten over 560,000 views. Needless to say, the gentle giants received plenty of praise.
