After years of work in the entertainment world, Kylie Jenner is officially a billionaire. The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan has made a name for herself using her passion for makeup and business over the years. Here’s a look at all she’s been able to accomplish!
The Reality Of It All
In 2007, Jenner got her start in the entertainment industry alongside her famous sisters on Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E! at just nine years old. With regular appearances on the show (and its numerous spinoffs), she was able to earn her own money and begin building a career of her own. Jenner began hosting gigs with her big sister Kendall Jenner and mom Kris by her side. She also did features with notable magazines and had early endorsements with brands like OPI and PacSun.
With her experience in reality TV, Jenner got her own reality show before her 20th birthday. The show, which premiered on E! as well, was called Life of Kylie and highlighted her career and personal life. Life Of Kylie consisted of eight episodes.
A few years before Life of Kylie, Jenner began diving more heavily into the beauty industry and changing up her look. The star admitted to getting her lips injected with fillers in 2015 but she also began experimenting with contouring, lip lining, and other makeup techniques. Her love of makeup led to an idea for a business that would completely change her life forever.
In 2015, Jenner began selling lip kits for $29, offering matte liquid lipsticks and lip liners for purchase. She officially began her own company, Kylie Cosmetics, that following February, offering more colors for customers. She even had different cosmetics sets in collaboration with her sisters Kim Kardashian West and Khloé Kardashian as well as her former best friend, Jordyn Woods.
In 2018, just a few short years after the start of Kylie Cosmetics, the company was valued at nearly $800 million. With the company, her appearances on the reality show and other modeling gigs, she officially hit billionaire status after signing an exclusive distribution deal with beauty retailer Ulta Beauty.
2018 was also a big year for the young mogul because she gave birth to her daughter, Stormi Webster, whom she shares with rapper boyfriend Travis Scott. So now, she’s balancing motherhood with a billion-dollar company, but she seems to be handling it quite well!
