Rami Malek In Final Talks To Portray ‘Bond 25’ Villain

For James Bond fans, the forthcoming Bond 25 has been pinned on their calendar. As the 25th film in the Bond franchise, they can expect some mindblowing things to occur. When it comes to the film’s bad guy, one Oscar winner may land the role.

Shaken Not Stirred

Rami Malek is currently negotiating with MGM to portray the main villain in Bond 25. Last year, he was slated to take the role, but his Mr. Robot schedule prevented it from happening. Fortunately, the studio was able to accommodate Malek in running both schedules at once.

Shooting is slated to begin this spring. Malek will be joining Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux in the film’s cast.

We Will Rock You

2018 was a colossal year for Malek with his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. His performance earned him an Oscar for Best Actor. For that movie, Malek wanted to showcase Mercury’s true nature.

“Ultimately I think you have to shine a light on certain aspects of his life, to show how defiant he was as an artist and what stereotypes he destroyed. He, and the band, they brought down every convention of what music should be and how human beings should act in public. He’s a revolutionary in that he just refused to be segregated or marginalized in any way,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Malek Has 2020 Vision

Bond 25, which releases on April 8, 2020, isn’t the only 2020 release for Malek. The actor will lend his voice for The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, which comes out on January 17, 2020.

As previously mentioned, Malek will be shooting the final season of Mr. Robot this spring. His time on the popular series earned Malek an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Malek is also slated to appear on the forthcoming podcast Blackout from Endeavor Audio.
