Brand New ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ Images Revealed

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is slated to be another masterpiece from director Quentin Tarantino. The film follows actors trying to make it in Hollywood during the horrific Manson Family murders. While the film doesn’t come out until the summer, some new images were released.

Behind The Scenes

Vanity Fair unveiled some exclusive images from the set. Filming for the movie began last June, and it lasted until November. Scoot McNairy, who plays Business Bob Gilbert, told Collider about his time working with Tarantino.

Vanity Fair

“That was probably one of the greatest experiences of my career. Just to watch Quentin be on set and be Quentin, and hold court, was one of the most fascinating things I have probably ever experienced in the movie business. It was an amazing, awesome experience. I would give anything to do it again. I really loved just listening to the guy be an encyclopedia on set,” he said.

All The Kind Words

McNairy isn’t the only one praising director’s work. Cinematographer Robert Richardson also gave some glowing words. “I think the tone of it is—it’s difficult to describe because it’s very fresh, but it oscillates between humorous, serious, spooky; it’s playful. It’s not easily describable, but it’s very Quentin. Very, very, very Quentin,” he told Collider.

Richardson has worked with Tarantino on numerous films, including The Hateful Eight and Django Unchained.

A Summertime Bonanza

Before filming even started, Tarantino put it on the same level as one of his most iconic movies. “This is probably the closest to Pulp Fiction that I’ve done. It has two lead characters and a ton of supporting characters,” he said at CinemaCon.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood stars Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, and Al Pacino. The movie will also see James Marsden, Kurt Russell, and Michael Madsen in undisclosed roles. The film is slated to be released on July 26, 2019.
