Is An Office Reboot Coming? If John Krasinski Has His Way, Fans Will Be Surprised

Published

Fans of The Office are among the most dedicated you can find, and with so many classic shows lining up for a reboot, many are wondering whether a network or streaming service will bring us back to the offices of Dunder Mifflin for another season. Though the show has only been off the air for five years, there are rumors that a reboot is in the works, and an actor in the main cast has a pretty strong opinion about it.

A Potential Return To Scranton

The Office, a mockumentary style comedy based on its British counterpart, premiered in America in 2005 and ran until the finale in 2013. With a total of nine seasons, fans everywhere were devastated when their favorite paper company finally closed its doors on the series.

Recently, rumors have been swirling that a continuation of the beloved show is in the works for the 2018-2019 TV season, and one of the show’s leads couldn’t be more thrilled.

Krasinski Shows His Support

NBC has yet to speak on behalf of Dunder Mifflin, but reports from actor John Krasinski make us believe that at least some of the cast is interested in a reboot.

“I love the idea of coming back together [but] I think it’d be impossible to get us all together to do a run of the series. But [British shows] have the Christmas specials,” says Krasinski. “That is such a brilliant thing in television programming, to do a once-a-year sort of check-in with your favorite shows. I absolutely think we should do that, and I don’t know why more shows don’t do that.”

Who Else Will Appear?

Rumor has it the revival would feature a mix of both new and old characters, though there is one thing we are sure about – Steve Carrell’s Michael Scott would not be involved. Looks like Dunder Mifflin is going to have to find themselves a new boss.

Bustle

With Krasinski potentially on board, we’re sure some of the old cast can be wrangled up as well. After all, what is The Office without Dwight and Jim shenanigans? Or a peek inside Jim and Pam’s romance?
