For television fans, 2018 was one of the most hectic years in a long time. Multiple fan favorites were axed, but several new series took over the airwaves. Fortunately, 2019 will be filled with some major events on TV. There’s a great chance you’ll be busy binging these five programs.

In 2016, Fox turned heads with their Emmy Award-winning live musical Grease: Live. On January 27, 2019, the network brings another live special with Rent: Live. Directed by Michael Greif and Alex Rudzinski, this special will feature Grease: Live alumni Vanessa Hudgens and Jordan Fisher. If that’s not enough, Tony-nominated stars Brandon Victor Dixon and Keala Settle will also join the cast.

The Crystal Returns

Netflix will unveil The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance to the world sometime in 2019. This 10 episode series is a prequel to the popular 1982 film. What makes this show unique is the use of puppetry on screen. The voice cast features a slew of stars, including Taron Egerton, Mark Hamill, and Keegan-Michael Key.

A Crisis On Their Hands

Fans of the Arrowverse geek out on their yearly crossover events. 2019 will finally see the highly anticipated Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline play out on screen. In the comic books, this major event led to the deaths of both Supergirl and The Flash. Will the onscreen heroes suffer the same fate?

Time For Nine Nine

Upon Brooklyn Nine Nine‘s cancellation, fans made their feelings heard on social media. While the series didn’t have huge ratings, it was always a critical darling. Fortunately, NBC decided to give the series another chance. On January 10, 2019, season six of the show will commence with 18 episodes of comedic goodness.
