The Piano Guys, a piano and cello quartet that starting out by recording and uploading songs on Youtube, has just released their latest and greatest masterpiece: a mash-up of Adele’s “Hello” with the “Lacrimosa” movement from Mozart’s Requiem.

The group covers songs ranging from classical selections to pop songs, and they often mash up songs from the two genres. Some of their most popular covers/mash-ups in the past have included “Let It Go” (from Disney’s Frozen) mixed with Vivaldi’s “Winter,” and One Republic’s “Secrets” mixed with Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. All of their covers are high professional quality and have been received well.

The fusion between centuries of music and genres in this mash-up works astonishingly well – the two tunes blend beautifully, and the master technique and craftsmanship of The Piano Guys really shines through in this video. It seems like the two songs couldn’t be more different. One is a hit single released in 2015 from British pop-sensation Adele, and the other is a movement from a funeral mass written by one of the greatest composers of the 18th century. Amazingly, the two go together astonishingly well.
