Is Michael B. Jordan The Next Superman?

Published

on

We are sorry to disappoint fans, but it looks like Henry Cavill’s future as Superman might be coming to an end. While he hasn’t officially announced he’s leaving the DC Entertainment franchise, it looks like someone will soon have to take over the role. That person could be Michael B. Jordan.

Filling His Shoes, Or Cape

Whoever replaces Cavill as the Man of Steel will have big shoes, or rather cape, to fill. Cavill gained new fans during his time as Clark Kent. New generations have fallen back in love with the Superman films. While it’s unsure if Cavill is leaving the role or not, it’ll take some time to get used to another person playing Superman.

Up For Consideration

Rumors have already begun circulating on who might replace Cavill. This might be the perfect time for a completely different actor who goes against DC’s traditions to step into the role. Top contenders include Armie Hammer, Henry Golding, John Krasinski, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Matt Bomer, Tyler Hoechlin, and Michael B. Jordan.

Who is Michael B. Jordan?

Michael B. Jordan rose to fame in 2015 as boxer Adonis Creed in the Rocky sequel film Creed. He gained more fans as the main antagonist Erik Killmonger in 2018’s smash hit, Black Panther. If he was cast as Superman, it would be a significant change to the industry, but perhaps that’s exactly what DC wants.-

Denying The Rumors

Jordan has denied any rumors of taking over the role if Cavill chooses to depart from playing Superman. He would love to be a part of the Superman films, but not as Clark Kent. But as we have witnessed in the past, anything can change with casting. Producers certainly think he could play the part.

Perfect For The Role

Everyone thinks Jordan is perfect for the role, even illustrators who imagined what the actor would look like if he was suited up in Superman’s famous costume. Dean Cain, star of the 1990’s series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, thinks Jordan would make a fantastic Superman. Will Jordan take over the role or not? Like most news in Hollywood, we will have to wait and see.
