Widower Releases Messages in Bottles to Help Find New Love

Published

on

A 49-year-old widowerfrom London who lost his wife to breast cancer 18 months ago, had been literally flooding the UK waters with messages in bottles with the hope of finding new love.

“The many things that I have experienced and my recent loss — are some of the things that have tested me and make me who I am today. That’s not the reason I sent the bottles on their journey. I will just say it. I am lonely,” wrote Craig Sullivan on his blog.

While most people would ask friends or use dating apps when finding new love, Sullivan found “using any of the normal channels for this sort of thing (dating sites, friends, matchmaking services) seemed cliched or somehow less elegant, less noble.”

Sullivan decided that the best approach would be through messages in bottles after listening to a song by the Police, with the lyrics that said: “I’ll send an SOS to the world. I hope that someone gets my message in a bottle.”

The Scottish widower strategically planned how he will distribute the bottles using maps and tidal tables so that his bottles could reach beaches across the world.

Sullivan’s letter contains a fair amount of information about himself such as personal background, favorite places, interests, personality, his values, and many other things. Ultimately, he encourages the reader to just get in touch, regardless of the means.

“I hope it was enough to get your interest and encourage you to get in touch (see below). Even if it’s just to answer a question or share your experiences, I’m open to all contacts.

If you want to do more than that, the bottle will have woven some magic,” Sullivan wrote in the letter.

After sending out the bottles, Sullivan received numerous responses from all across the world, writing: “Brazil, Turkey, the USA, South Africa, Portugal, Greece, China, Japan, Korea and South London — it’s been an amazingly broad and deeply emotional clutch of messages that have come my way.”

Neverland Ranch is Back On The Market: Take A Look Around the Amusement Park

Situated in the Santa Ynez Valley of Santa Monica, California, the almost 3,000 acre plot of land upon which Neverland Ranch was constructed has recently been placed back on the market. Nowadays, the one-time residence of international pop sensation Michael Jackson is going by a new name: Sycamore Valley Ranch. Much of the estate is as it was during the 15 years Jackson called it his home, except for a few glaring differences – namely, the removal of the fun-fair rides that gave the home its whimsical name Neverland Ranch. The very last vestiges of where the carousel once spun are still visible as you go through the grounds. Read on for an in-depth view of the ranch.
