While Netflix is best known for its award-winning dramas, they’re known for a good chuckle or two. From One Day at a Time to Fuller House, Netflix’s line of comedy programming is top tier. They’re looking to keep the laughs coming with two familiar faces.

Nick At Netflix

Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin will co-star in the upcoming Netflix sitcom No Good Nick. The multi-camera series will be directed by Andy Fickman, who is best known for Kevin Can Wait. This will be the second multi-camera sitcom produced by the service. The first was 2016’s The Ranch, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for a Multi-Camera Series.

“Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin are beloved by millions of fans around the world, and we are delighted to bring them together as parents for the very first time,” stated Netflix VP of Kids and Family Melissa Cobb. The show revolves around the relationship between married couple Liz and Ed and their newly adopted daughter Nick.

Sabrina X Samwise

Many sitcom fans recognize Hart from her performances in Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, and Melissa & Joey. In 2013, she was awarded the Mickey Rooney Former Child Star Award at the 34th Young Artist Awards.

Sean Astin is best known for his performances in Rudy, The GooniesThe Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In 2017, he joined the cast of Netflix’s Stranger Things as Bob Newby. This summer, he reunited with the streaming service to be the narrator on The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants.

Nothing But Smiles

Joining Hart and Astin on the cast are Siena Agudong (Star Falls), Kalama Epstein (The Fosters), and Lauren Lindsey Donzis (Liv and Maddie). Filming for the new series is already underway.

No Good Nick is slated to drop on the streaming service sometime in 2019.
