The Loki Plot Hole In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ You May Have Missed

WARNING: Spoilers ahead!

Are you a Loki fan? Then the opening of Avengers: Infinity War where Loki is killed by Thanos must have been heartbreaking. He may have been the trickster god, but he tricked his way into our hearts. But… Loki is STILL ALIVE!

Loki’s Big Secret

But how is he still alive, I saw him die with my own eyes? That’s a fair question to ask, but when you’re dealing with a master of illusions you can’t rely on what you see, hear, or even smell. Because Loki has turned himself into… Bruce Banner.

Thor: Ragnarok

Loki’s main power is the ability to transform himself and others. He simply turned himself into The Hulk, took a few punches from Thanos, then laid down pretending to be broken and beaten, until Thanos left. Then he transformed another Asgardian to look like himself and used his mischief magic to make the fake Loki sound like himself.

Why Wouldn’t Loki Just Return To His Original Form?

When he got swept to earth by the Byfrost, which probably wasn’t part of Loki’s original plan, he couldn’t revert back into his actual form on earth. Why? He had tried to conquer Earth in the first Avengers. So he pretended to revert back into Bruce Banner, and give Dr. Strange the news that Thanos is coming.

Marvel Studio’s

Not convinced? Well, this is where the plot hole helps explain things. In Thor: Ragnarok one of the main themes of the movie is that Bruce Banner cannot remember anything The Hulk did. When Bruce Banner reverts from The Hulk on Sakaar, he has no memory of the past two years he was The Hulk and is surprised to learn that he and Thor fought.

How Does Banner Remember Hulk’s Fight With Thanos?

He reverts back into The Hulk during the final clash in Ragnarock and stays in that form until he crashes on earth.

Thor: Ragnarok

When The Hulk reverts back into Banner, how does Banner know that The Hulk lost a fight to Thanos and that Thanos is coming? It’s because that’s not Bruce Banner, that’s Loki pretending to be Bruce and hiding on earth.

Some television shows come into our lives at the exact right moment, so that they become inextricably bound with our memories of those complicated coming-of-age years, Beverly Hills 90210 is without a doubt one of those shows. We all tuned in week after week, year after year because the drama was just so addicting. The love triangles! The will-they-won’t-theys! Meanwhile, when the cameras weren’t rolling, the cast was up to plenty of off-set antics of their own. Disclaimer: after you read about what went down, it might have you rethinking everything — were those angsty expressions just good acting, or were they bringing some real-life drama into it?
