Lois Lane Not Coming Back To The DCEU?

Published

on

2018 has been a very topsy-turvy year for the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). With the response towards 2017’s Justice League, Warner Bros. has been busy trying to switch things around. There’s also those rumors of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill exiting. Unfortunately, another star is reportedly headed out the door.

Life In The Fast Lane

In 2013, Amy Adams graced movie theaters as Lois Lane in Man of Steel. The five-time Oscar nominee reprised her role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the aforementioned Justice League. When it came to her character’s future, Adams claimed that her time is probably done.

Warner Bros.

“I think I’m out of the DC Universe now. I think they’re revamping that. I don’t know the details,” she told Variety. Fans haven’t been thrilled with that piece of news. “Amy was the important part of DCEU and its make me sad when she said that,” Twitter user sanjrok said.

More Exiting Players?

Adams isn’t the only actor that has no idea of their character’s next appearances. J.K. Simmons, who portrayed Jim Gordon in Justice League, told Collider, “As far as I know, there’s no opportunity, in the immediate future, for me to do more Commissioner Gordon, but I continue to be optimistic that it will happen again.”

Warner Bros.

Laurence Fishburne, who played Perry White, hasn’t been notified of any updates. “I don’t think I’m still on call. I was unfortunately unable to go do some work on what turned out to be the Justice League movie,” he told Den of Geek over the summer.

Hitting The Reset Button

The DCEU is slated to have a reboot sometime following 2020’s The Flash. Since that character has time travel abilities, they could use that film to confirm the franchise’s shift.

A plethora of films are in the works, including Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn) and Green Lantern Corps.
