Leaked Footage Shows Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah Villain On The Prowl in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

Published

on

Filming has barely begun for Wonder Woman 1984, and fans are waiting with bated breath for any leaked pictures and footage they can get their hands on. The latest to fill their need is a video of Kristen Wiig performing an aerial stunt, presumably after becoming Wonder Woman’s arch-nemesis, Cheetah.

Wiig Shown Using Her Cheetah Powers

Wiig, who plays British archeologist Barbara Minerva turned half-cheetah hybrid, appears to be using her powers by blasting through the air. Despite that, she’s not in a “Cheetah” form (no footage of that yet).

The leaked footage of the actress strapped into the harness isn’t the best quality, but it at least gives us an early look of the character on the prowl in the 1980s. Check out the footage here.

It might appear that the leaked footage provides little detail, but avid fans are managing to piece together some fun facts based on how little they know.

Production Shots Give More Clues

Another fun reveal was set shots showing Gal Gadot strapped in a harness, appearing to fly an invisible jet. This is huge news since Wonder Woman fans know how important the jet is to the Wonder Woman mythos (although one would then ‘wonder’ why we didn’t see it in the previous movie).

This would merge such an important piece of the character’s history with her oldest nemesis, who not only challenges Wonder Woman physically, but emotionally as someone who (according to comic lore) betrayed Wonder Woman in an attempt to steal her Lasso Of Truth. Cheetah is also a character Wonder Woman has longed to help save from pain and suffering due to her powers. But Cheetah isn’t the only blast from the past we’ll see.

Steve Trevor Is Back (With A Fanny Pack?)

Spoilers ahead! Fans know Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor appears to be alive again, this time sporting 1980s garb (including a fanny pack in some scenes), thanks to a batch of set photos released earlier this year showing Steve and Wonder Woman (as her alter ego, Diana Prince) running out of the Smithsonian Museum to hail a cab. Fans are still wondering how his appearance will be explained after he died in the previous movie.

Project Casting

Also rumored to be returning to Wonder Woman is none other than the original, Lynda Carter — though not as her original character, obviously. Are you excited to see more from the movie? Take a look at this video of Gal Gadot performing her stunts:
