Lady Gaga is no stranger to fame and acclaim. She has often won praise for effortlessly pushing musical boundaries, whether it’s teaming up with Tony Bennett for jazz album Cheek to Cheek, or her country-pop venture Joanne. However, with her latest artistic endeavor into acting via the musical A Star is Born, she has once again proven that she is one of the most influential artists of the time.

Rules (And Records) Were Made To Be Broken

In 2010, Lady Gaga burst on the scene and broke her first music-related record by being the first artist to achieve 13 nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards.

In May 2011, her album Born This Way attained the highest first-day album sales in history, with 524,000 albums sold. Now, those aren’t the only impressive ways she’s broken records, but her most recent feat may be the one she’s most proud of.

A Star Is Born Again

The film may have only premiered a few weeks ago, but the soundtrack has already rocketed up to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. With its rise, Lady Gaga has become the only woman to have five No. 1 albums this decade!

She has surpassed Taylor Swift, who tied with her last year when Reputation became Swift’s fourth chart-topper, and now ties with Future, J. Cole and Kanye West for five No. 1 LPs. Drake still holds the lead though, with a whopping eight No. 1 albums released this decade.

What Makes This Album A Star?

Perhaps the most notable aspect of this album is that it largely features fan-favorite Bradley Cooper. As the co-lead in the film, the album features many songs by the pair, as well as a few solo acts by both.
