The Reason Kristen Bell And Dax Shepard Forgot Their Wedding Anniversary Is The Cutest Thing Ever

Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary a little late this year. Not because they had scheduling snafus or couldn’t get a sitter like when we postpone our anniversary celebrations. They celebrated a little late because they both forgot the actual date of their wedding anniversary!

In a post on her Instagram, Bell said that neither of them realized they’d missed their anniversary until family members reached out to wish them happy anniversary. She also admitted that neither she, nor Shepard ever remembers their wedding date, and Bell even mistakenly said that it was their fifth anniversary instead of their sixth!

Wondering how this couple that’s often described as #relationshipgoals could completely forget their anniversary or how long they’ve been married? So were a lot of people. It turns out, the reason is pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Celebrating Their Love Every Moment

In the same Instagram post where Bell admitted to forgetting her own anniversary, she went on to explain why the actual date isn’t that important to them as a couple.

In truth, neither of us remember which day. Thats because we have been living the celebration of our commitment every moment since. I find when you are living with gratitude each moment, the dates become irrelevant.

Because Bell and Shepard choose to focus on celebrating their love every day, they feel like they don’t need to make their actual wedding anniversary a special celebration. We could all learn a lot from their approach to their relationship.

Bell also said:

I will never remember the date of our anniversary @daxshepard, and i know you wont either. And thats just one more thing i love about us.

Sentiments like this are just one more testament to the fact that Bell and Shepard have a unique and special relationship. They love each other for exactly who they are, forgotten anniversaries and all.

So, did they end up celebrating once they were reminded? Bell made another Instagram post the same day with an adorable picture of her and Shepard sharing a kiss. She added the caption:

Here’s the morning we both got texts from grandma saying “happy anniversary!”.
We were both on our way out the door but stopped for a quick hot and heavy make out sesh while Frank stood close like a creeper.

It’s not dinner and a movie, but sometimes a make out sesh is a better way to celebrate than a date.

Their Relationship Takes Hard Work

Bell and Shepard have been together since 2007, which is basically forever when it comes to Hollywood relationships. They’ve often been touted as both #relationshipgoals and #parentinggoals because of their honest and hilarious way of sharing about their relationship and their family on social media and in interviews. Their relationship is one of those that looks pretty close to perfect.

But Bell and Shepard haven’t been shy about sharing how their relationship is far from perfect. In fact, they’ve been vocal about how difficult their relationship has been and the incredible amount of hard work it takes to keep their relationship healthy and happy.

They’ve been very open about the fact that they go to marriage counseling regularly so they can learn how to be better people and better partners to each other. Both Bell and Shepard have said numerous times that it takes a lot of work, practice, and commitment to have a marriage that looks like theirs.

Considering how much they do each day to keep their marriage as amazing, it makes sense that their approach is to celebrate their love all the time instead of just one day a year.
