Kevin Smith Truly Believes ‘Star Wars’ Could Resurrect Han Solo

Published

It is absolutely no secret that the Star Wars film series is one of (if not the) most beloved collection of movies in the history of mankind. Since its initial debut all those years ago, moviegoers have been filling theaters across the globe whenever a new chapter of the epic celestial saga is released.

Is Han Really Gone?

It’s one thing to see a “Force Ghost” or two, but for a character to actually resurrect from the dead seems absolutely preposterous, particularly for a non-Jedi. However, it may not be as far-fetched as you think.

This week, beloved writer/director/actor Kevin Smith, offered up a very unique theory that posits just such an occurrence with fan-favorite, Han Solo. Spoiler alert: in the rare event that you didn’t know, he tragically died in The Force Awakens.

What Sparked This Idea?

After it was reported that the legendary actor, Billy Dee Williams, signed on to reprise his legendary role as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Star Wars installment, it got sci-fi superfan, Kevin Smith, thinking about what else could happen.

Smith instantly hopped on Twitter to write the following hypothesis: “If, due to a time travel device or the Force, there’s a plot development that allows Lando to repeat his Empire Strikes Back line ‘There’s still a chance to save Han!’ and get us back to that fateful bridge on Starkiller base? Then I’ll kiss JJ on the mouth. I’ll French him even.”

Is Everyone On Board With This?

In short, no, not everyone. But, it’s still fully in the realm of possibility, even if star Harrison Ford has been fairly vocal about the fact that he’s more or less done with the franchise.

Sure, the death of Han Solo in Force Awakens tugged at our heartstrings, but that doesn’t mean he can’t come back in some fashion. The franchise has handled other recently deceased fan favorites in a similar way. So, anything is possible.

When Real-Life Plays A Part In TV Plotlines

Think you know why an actor exited a show? We’ll bet you didn’t even realize that some major show plots happened out of serendipity. Read on to find out how in some cases, the truth really is stranger than fiction.
