Fans of the Toy Story franchise won’t have to wait much longer for its next chapter. On June 21, 2019, everyone’s favorite gang of toys return for another adventure. One excellent actor is joining longtime stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen in the recording booth.

Toys In The Attic

Keanu Reeves revealed that he’s an official cast member of Toy Story 4. In an interview with Collider, he stated, “I got a call which was really cool out the blue from the lovely people at Pixar and the creators of this number, this edition, or continuation of the story. They pitched the character to me and then we spoke and they allowed me to kind of riff on it.”

As of this time, there’s no word on what role this character will play in the movie. Tim Allen gave a glimpse of his character while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.  “Actually, a little inside story [about Reeves]: Even he said — gentle, wonderful guy that he is — ‘This sounds too much like Buzz Lightyear.’ And his character does have an edge to that,” he said.

Use Your Voice

This won’t be Reeves’ first voice acting gig. In 1990, he lent his voice to beloved character Ted in the cartoon Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures. He’s also narrated several documentaries, including Deep Web and Mifune: The Last Samurai.

Deep Web was directed by Bill and Ted co-star Alex Winter.

Another Blockbuster For Reeves

Recently, Reeves has been filming John Wick 3: Parabellum, which is slated for a May 17, 2019 release. Aside from Toy Story and John Wick, 2019 will also see the release of his upcoming Netflix comedy Always Be My Maybe.

Reeves is also working on the long awaited Bill and Ted sequel titled Bill and Ted Face The Music. This film finds the popular metalheads dealing with family life while trying to save the world.
