Keanu Reeves Confesses Crush On ‘Speed’ Co-Star

Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves

If you weren’t already obsessed with Keanu Reeves, you probably will be after you read this. The notoriously private star recently appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to spill the tea on his #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday). And you won’t believe who it is! Read on to find out which Speed co-star that Reeves crushed on back in the day!

A Need For Speed

Fans of the 1994 action-thriller film Speed will be happy to know that the on-screen chemistry between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock was real. In the 90s flick, Reeves played the role of cop Jack Traven, whose job it was to stop an explosive from going off on a speeding bus. With the assistance of fellow commuter Annie, played by Bullock, they were forced to crank up the vehicle’s speed to over 50 mph to save the passengers on board.

Years later, Bullock revealed that she felt some type of way while working with her Keanu on the film. And honestly, can you blame her? Last year, the Bird Box star appeared on the Ellen Show to publicly share her feelings about Reeves on the set of Speed. When asked about her time working with Keanu, Bullock gushed to Ellen that “I think of how sweet Keanu Reeves was and how handsome he was.” Sounds like a schoolgirl crush to us!

The Fast And The Furious

Not only was Bullock impressed by Reeves’ personality, but she was also was distracted from her character’s role by his movie-star looks. On the Ellen Show last year, Sandra revealed to Ellen that “It was hard for me to like, really be serious. Like, he would look at me and I’d be like [giggles]. And I’d have to try to, you know [be serious].” The actress also shared that she didn’t think that Keanu was into her at all, and stated that they never dated either.

Sandra also told Ellen during their interview that Reeves was a true gentleman during their experience filming Speed. Hilariously, Bullock dished to Ellen about a time when Keanu helped her on set: “My dress sort of kept flying up — I said, ‘Whatever you do, just keep my dress down.’ The whole stunt he just made sure of my dress. He was very sweet.” Unbelievably, the magnetic star was too shy to share her feeling with Keanu at the time.

True Romance

However, the Miss Congeniality actress has been surprised to learn that the feeling was mutual. In an unexpected turn of events, Keanu appeared on the Ellen Show this year to set the record straight. Reeves gossiped to DeGeneres that Bullock “obviously didn’t know I had a crush on her, either.” Keanu elaborated to Ellen that “It was nice to go to work. She’s such a wonderful person, wonderful actress.” When Ellen asked Reeves why the two never became a couple IRL, he cheekily responded that “We were working.”

This is not the first time that Reeves has expressed his love of Bullock to the media. Although the pair were also featured in the 2006 film The Lake House, Reeves revealed to People magazine in 2017 that he wanted to share the big screen with Bullock again. When People asked Keanu if he would ever work on another project with Bullock, he shared “Oh my gosh, yeah I’ve been trying. I’ve been looking for [film projects] with Sandra — not with her, but for us.” Keanu continued to tell People that “I haven’t found anything yet. I’ve been trying!” Although Sandra has been in a relationship with Bryan Randall since 2015, fans are still hoping for a “speedy” reunion between these two!
