The Outside World Mother Who Lost Her Son Gets Parking Tickets Dismissed By Kind Judge Published 2 years ago on Jul 1, 2017 By Lyn Kelly A mother whose life had taken a turn downhill – financially, emotionally, psychologically—starting from the loss of her son received a much-needed dose of humanity and compassion from Judge Frank Caprio who dismissed all her outstanding parking tickets considering her circumstances. Facebook In a video posted on Facebook, Judge Caprio can be seen enumerating the outstanding ticket violations and fines that the woman had the to pay amounting to $400. The woman then narrated to the judge the unfortunate circumstances behind all those parking violations. “The one on eleven-one, I went to social security because they had cut my check because my son was recently killed last year… so they cut my check because he had owed money,” the mother lamented. “So they took my money because he had owed money so I had to go to social security to fix that matter. When I came out, I had a ticket,” she added. Facebook She got another parking ticket when she was at eviction court trying to win against her landlord who wanted to evict her. Unfortunately, she lost and as luck would have it her other parking ticket was when she visited legal services to get help on this issue. The mother later admitted that she is on welfare because of a disability and did not have $400 to pay the fines. “I’m just really having a tough time your honor,” she said. Judge Caprio patiently listened to her story and unlike other “by the book” court figures, the kind-hearted judge told her “I’m gonna take all of the circumstances that you just have explained to me into consideration and see if I can balance the equities to protect the interest of the city and take into consideration the horrific story that you just told us relative to your son.” Facebook The judge reduced the fine to mere $50 and when the woman said she had the money to pay for it, Judge Caprio even asked how much money will she have left. When the woman revealed she will have $5 left, the judge dismissed everything, saying at the end: “With our best wishes and hope that things turn out good for you.” UP NEXT Police Officer Adopts Child He Saved From Abusive Home...
