Not Going Anywhere

Weeks after her debut on Doctor Who, rumors have been flying about Jodie Whittaker’s possible exit from the series. Her reason for leaving varies from who you hear. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jodie Whittaker shoots down those rumors. “I really can’t wait to step back in and get to work again. It’s such an incredible role. It’s been an extraordinary journey so far and I’m not quite ready to hand it over yet,” she said.

The Good With The Bad

Whittaker’s time as The Doctor has met with high praise from numerous people. “Dr. Who was a triumph. A brilliant reinvention in so many ways and Jodie Whittaker is superb,” stated comedian Chris Addison.

Amidst the praise, there have also been some criticisms about the series. “The very fact that Doctor Who’s gender reversal now comes across as a little underwhelming perhaps shows how much progress has been made in a short time, but that doesn’t mean the producers ought to settle for a quiet revolution,” said The Daily Beast‘s Nico Hines.

A Growing Audience

Ratings for this season of Doctor Who has been very steady with an average of seven million viewers. In comparison, Peter Capaldi’s final season as The Doctor received an average of five million viewers.
