“I Don’t Even Work Out,” Jessica Alba Tells Ellen

There’s no refuting that we all envy celebrities and Hollywood models particularly their shredded, lean and well-toned bodies. It is also the same reason most of us are somewhat dreading the upcoming holiday season where we are likely to watch all the hard work that we have put for the past 6 or so months disappear with the carefree partying and binge-feasting that comes with the festive weekend. Yes, December is almost here and even as we begrudgingly draw up our New Year resolutions for 2017 – most of which will revolve around hitting the gym more frequently – Jessica Alba reminds us that not all model physiques that we all hanker after are built from spending hours in sweatpants.

To the regular gym enthusiasts that have struggling to lose weight for several months now, this might have caught you by surprise. Nobody can deny that Jessica Alba’s well-shredded and ripped physique easily turns heads wherever she goes. And that’s why she went lengths to explain her sentiments on Monday night at the ‘The Ellen Show’ where she was discussing her lifestyle and immediate family.

“I really don’t have to go the gym. And this is especially when you are living in a neighborhood where you will be walking up and down quite a lot. I don’t even like going to the gym as per se, neither do I find it necessary as I feel like I exercise enough every day already,” Jessica added.

This is interesting considering that just a few months ago she told ‘Shape’ that she had a personal target of working out at least 4 times every week. And we quote, ” If a week passes and I have exercised only four times then I would term it as a successful week. However, I can only manage to hit the gym 2 or 3 days a week because really that’s what I got time for only,” she said back in August. This directly contradicts her bashing of the gym rat lifestyle which she tried to distance herself from this Monday.

And when Ellen questioned the logic of her not thinking that the gym was necessary, she replied, “You can always cover up the not-so-good-looking bits and pieces of your body with a little flair and style.”

That being said, during her interview, she also let Ellen – her host – test out her new Honest Beauty care products and hairdressing skills on her tresses – something that most celebrities would never do.
