Grey’s Anatomy Star Jesse Williams and Wife File for Divorce

Grey’s Anatomy’s Jesse Williams is calling it quits to his wife Aryn Drake Lee-Williams. The couple has known each other for over 10 years, dated for five years, and got married in 2012. They have two young toddlers—Sadie and Maceo.

Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake Lee filed for divorce earlier this month as told to ET. Although the reasons are still unclear, reports say the two are splitting for “irreconcilable differences”. According to sources, “They are trying to keep their split top secret and away from the public. They’ve actually been separated for a while now.”

Before Williams, 35, joined the long-time medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, he was a high school teacher in New York. It was this time when he met his wife. In 2010, he gushed about Aryn stating, “I was a teacher when I met her, so she’s been with me through all the different facets of my career. She’s stuck with me through thick and thick and thick and thin,” he told USA Today.

And in 2016, he thanked his wife in public while giving a powerful speech while receiving his Humanitarian Award for his undying support for the Black Lives Matter. He mentioned about how amazing Aryn was and how she changed his life.

On the other hand, Jesse Williams is not also asking for full custody of their children, rather, he wants joint physical and joint legal custody. According to the court documents, Williams doesn’t want to give spousal support to his soon-to-be ex-wife. He asked the court to deny Aryn of any form of support from him, proving that the two signed a prenup agreement. However, TMZ reports said the couple does not have the said agreement.

Aside from acting and teaching, Jesse Williams was once a model and is still an activist for civil rights, especially for racism. Aryn, on the other hand, is a successful real estate broker.
