Jennifer Aniston Auctions Off Nude Photo For Charity

Updated

The coronavirus epidemic has been a thorn in everyone’s side. Many celebrities have been doing their part in helping raise funds for organizations. Jennifer Aniston decided to chip in, but she’s doing it differently. The Friends star will be offering a nude photo for big cash.

Aniston In The Flesh

On Instagram, Aniston announced that a nude photo of her will be heading to an online auction. This won’t be a recent photo she took for the occasion, through. This will be a 1995 photo taken by photographer Mark Seliger. In the photo, Aniston is crossing her legs and arms in front of her body. “My dear friend @markseliger teamed up with @radvocacy and @christiesinc to auction 25 of his portraits – including mine – for COVID-19 relief,” Aniston said on Instagram. “100% of sales proceeds of this portrait will go to @NAFClinics, an organization which provides free coronavirus testing and care nationwide to the medically underserved.”

Located in Virginia, the National Association of Free & Charitable (NAFC) Clinics was founded back in 2001. Their main goal is to give people the best health care around. Earlier this year, the organization won the GuideStar 2020 Platinum Seal of Transparency. A Seal of Transparency is awarded by showcasing information such as financial information and goals. This gives NAFC Clinics stronger visibility in the GuideStar database. The NAFC Clinics join companies such as March of Dimes and Girls Inc. in the platinum category.

Their First Photo Together

Seliger met Aniston during the second season of Friends. By that time, Aniston and her co-stars had become household names. Seliger and Aniston came up with the iconic pose before shooting. “That pose was something I’d worked out in a pre-light, and I thought it would keep it very organic and classic feeling. I wanted to have a sense of formality to it, and the pose just seemed to work out really well,” Seliger told In Style. This isn’t the first celebrity Seliger has shot in the buff. Kim Kardashian, Drew Barrymore, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus have requested Seliger’s expertise for these specific photoshoots.

Following the shoot, Seliger continued taking photos of the Friends cast until the show’s finale. Seliger’s working relationship with Aniston continues to this day. “It’s a process of making interesting imagery, and she’s particular but very open to sharing her ideas. She’s always been like that,” Seliger also told In Style. “I’ve given her a lot of crazy ideas, and she’s always been open to trying, even though some of them don’t work out. She’s always there and very willing to go along with it.”

Seliger’s auction features photos of celebrities such as Oprah, Bruce Springsteen, and Barack Obama. Photos have been on the auction block for an average of $5,000. Proceeds from each portrait sale will go towards the charity of the celebrity’s choice.

The Isolation Blues

Because of the coronavirus epidemic, things have been different for Seliger and Aniston. Instead of photographing celebrities, Seliger has been taking photos of quarantine life in New York City. Seliger’s photos of empty New York City streets have been featured in Vanity Fair.

Aniston was working on the second season of The Morning Show before the epidemic hit. Apple TV+ shut down production for an unspecified amount of time. The Morning Show features Aniston’s first lead role in a TV show since Friends. In January, Aniston won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. In the film world, Aniston is in the pre-production stages for her new film The Fixer. The film finds Aniston portraying real-life sports manager Denise White.

It won’t be long until Aniston and Seliger work on another photoshoot together.
