‘Jay And Silent Bob Reboot’ Adds Chris Jericho To Its Cast

Since February, Kevin Smith has been working on the forthcoming Jay And Silent Bob reboot. To the delight of fans, the director has been sharing updates from the set. His recent update finds him teaming up with a professional wrestling legend.

Jay And Silent Bob Is Jericho

On Instagram, Smith shared a photo of him and Jason Mewes hanging out with wrestler Chris Jericho. The former WWE star was in town to shoot a scene for the upcoming reboot.

“I was there when #y2jayandsilentbob happened! @chrisjerichofozzy joined #jayandsilentbobreboot last week in a scene stolen from some of the 80’s road movies I grew up watching,” Smith stated.

Joining Forces Again

For Jericho, this isn’t his first time starring in a movie. In 2006, he made his acting debut in the SyFy movie Android Apocalypse. Nearly 10 years later, he returned to the network to star in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

Jericho previously worked with Smith on KillRoy Was Here, which is slated to be released soon. The horror anthology finds the wrestler portraying The Gator Chaser. While filming KillRoy Was Here, Jericho did more than just deliver lines. “Every crew member wears multiple hats on a low budget film – so last night when Jericho got to set, I asked the master podcaster and WWE icon to not only act but also operate the camera for himself in his scene as well! When presented with this info, did the Fozzy frontman show trepidation? No way: homey goes with the flow and not only CRUSHES his character and dialogue but shoots a damn spooky scene as well,” Smith said on Facebook.

Nearly At Completion

The Jay and Silent Bob reboot is currently on its final days of shooting. In January, it was revealed that Saban Films will distribute the movie along with Universal Pictures. “I offer my (literal) undying thanks to our amazing partners at Saban and Universal for making this dream come true and backing this cinematic silliness,” Smith said in a press release.

Fans can expect the reboot to be released later this year.
