Jason Momoa In Negotiations To Join Cast Of New “Dune”

Published

on

Aquaman star Jason Momoa is likely going to be the latest actor added to the cast of what is shaping up to be an interesting remake of the film Dune. A version of the film was previously made in 1984 but the root of the epic story that is Dune was first conceived in novel form by Frank Herbert in 1965.

Big Star

Momoa is quite the on-screen success and last year’s Aquaman, the D.C. superhero flick he starred in, blew the box office out of the water and delighted many moviegoers. He is currently in negotiations about Dune.

IndieWire

The blockbuster Aquaman has brought home approximately $1,121,986,102 according to a recent look at the film’s take by Cinema Blend. So far, that is the highest payday made by any D.C. Universe movie in terms of worldwide revenue. There is no doubt that Jason Momoa’s lead role was a big part of that box office success.

Clear Direction

At the helm of the Dune remake is director Denis Villeneuve. He is known best for spectacular films such as Blade Runner 2049, Arrival and Sicario.

National Post

As plans move forward for the sci-fi reboot an opening date has been scheduled for November 20, 2020. The film is already generating a good deal of buzz as rumors of stars being added to the cast continue to circulate.

No Shortage Of Talent

Some of the big names currently said to have a place in the 2020 remake of Dune are Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, and Timothee Chalamet. Two of the names rumored to be in talks related to joining the cast are Josh Brolin and Zendaya.

The Independent

The reboot of Dune is shaping up to be a star-studded event, possibly one of those stars being Jason Momoa. While there is still quite some time go before this sci-fi remake hits theaters there is plenty to read about on the topic of its production.
