Jamie Foxx And Joseph Gordon-Levitt Join Forces For One Insane Netflix Movie

Netflix original films have brought some major names to the service, such as Will Smith and Brad Pitt. Now, Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will join forces for an upcoming film. This particular film isn’t like anything you’ve ever seen before.

A Mass Epidemic

By now, everyone is familiar with superhero movies. Many of your favorite superheroes gained their superpowers in unique ways. In this untitled Netflix movie, a brand new drug has spread throughout the town, and anyone that uses it will suddenly become powerful.

The drug becomes useful for a girl looking to provide for her family. Unfortunately, her drug dealing comes with a price. In this film, Gordon-Levitt will portray a police officer looking to get down to this bottom of this situation. Foxx will portray a mourning father who is also looking for the person responsible for this drug.

Veteran Netflix Producers On Board

The film’s script was written by Mattson Tomlin, who directed and wrote the 2015 drama Rene. Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless will co-produce the flick. Neither of the two men are strangers to working with Netflix. Newman, who was a co-founder of Strike Entertainment, worked on NarcosHemlock Grove and Bright.

Unkeless produced the recent Netflix drama First Match, and he’s slated to produce Bright 2 and Kate. The film will be directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who created the 2010 film Catfish.

What Are Gordon-Levitt And Foxx Up To Now?

Gordon-Levitt is currently filming 7500, which is directed by Patrick Vollrath. Aside from acting, he’s focusing on his online company HitRecord, which has produced numerous short films.

Foxx has been working on the films Robin Hood and Just Mercy. Fans can see him host the singing show Beat Shazam over on Fox.
