So ‘Iron Fist” Season Two Is Almost Watchable Now

Published

on

Marvel’s Iron Fist series has been nothing but a disaster so far. Based on the Marvel comic, this T.V. show has missed the mark in almost every aspect of production. From dead-end subplots to shoddy cinematography, audiences were not expecting a second season. However, rumor has it that the second season has somehow managed a substantial quality improvement. But should viewers really continue watching? Here’s what critics have to say:

Iron Fist Season 2 Sees Record-Breaking Rating Improvements

Rotten Tomatoes recently released some data on the show’s critic and viewer ratings. Apparently, Iron Fist has made the biggest jump in rating improvement ever recorded on the site. This could be a sign the show is headed for great places.

Though quality has improved tremendously, considering where the show started, that may not be saying much. Only 50% of critics across 30 reviews actually rated the show favorably. This is a major transition from the 19% that said the same for season one, but not on par with other Netflix series.

Critics Review It As The Second Worst TV Series Of 2017

Some say this might be the worst Marvel Television series produced. It came in second only to ABC’s Inhuman series, which was also released in 2017. Inhuman only got a 12% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with Iron First trailing close behind.

The second season, however, has been deemed “fine,” and “mildly entertaining,” which is quite the compliment for a show that had previously not garnered a kind word. Some critics say that the show is still “in search of an urgent reason to exist.”

Will Season 2 Gain Any Fans?

While Iron Fist may be in the spotlight for bad shows, it’s relatively in alignment with all other Marvel Television shows. Almost all of them have been criticized for having dull plotlines, slow pacing, too many episodes, and poor production quality. Iron Fist is no different.

The show’s second season is now under the direction of Raven Metzner, producer of Sleepy Hollow and writer of Elektra. New leadership coupled with improvements in production may bring this struggling show to life.
